This may
include the alignment of precision machinery in anything
from the nuclear to production industries.
Occasional
downshifts at factories require rapid measurements to be
taken of plant and equipment to check that everything is
aligned correctly and whether any adjustments are
required.
For example,
rolling mills require periodic checks to ensure that
rollers are running truly parallel and horizontal, to
ensure that the product (steel, paper, plastic etc) does
not crease or run off the edge of the rollers.
